Ripresa con il Cesena ancora nella formazione iniziale. Intorno al quinto della ripresa punizione per la squadra di Giampaolo con Mutu che tenta una conclusione bassa, però facile preda di Kenny. Al 59′ Dyer sfonda in area romagnola arrivando a tu per tu con Antonioli; l’estremo bianconero para in caduta ma il pallone rimane li e sempre Dyer calcia la sfera addosso a Lauro che rimane a terra. Il gioco riprende con il difensore italiano recuperato e con il Cesena nuovamente in pieno controllo della partita. Area inglese con Mutu che libera Comotto ma l’ex viola crossa malamente. Nella seconda frazione qualche pregevole spunto anche da Meza Colli. Mutu sempre in auge e pronto a guidare la squadra dalla sua posizione avanzata. Al 78′ conclusione da fuori di Parolo; palla sul fondo. A sei dal termine, con un tiro a giro da posizione decentrata, arriva il gol del neo entrato Erjon Bogdani. Ultimi minuti di gioco con una punizione di Taarabt che impegna relativamente Antonioli. In chiusura giocata britannica con Ceccarelli che salva sulla riga. Finisce doverosamente senza recupero. Partita che va agli archivi con il risultato di 1-0 per il Cesena e con alcune buone indicazioni per mister Giampaolo.
